Dollhouse Cancelled

When FOX renewed Joss Whedon's new Whedonverse, Dollhouse, for Season 2, the world was pretty surprised. With low ratings of 3.7 million viewers average, it was a pale comparison to their other new TV show, Lie to Me.

Season 1
focused mainly on what was wrong with stealing people's free will, while Season 2 focuses mainly on the aspect that you can never completely wipe someone's mind. A little bit of you will always be there; that is the gift of humanity. This is shown time and time again when Echo glitches and has flash backs of her other personalities.

Season 2 has averaged 2.5 million viewers. They took an 8 week hiatus to film the rest of the episodes and while in production of the 11th episode, Fox cancelled Dollhouse. It was November 11, 2009. The only good thing about this is that they will still air the original 13 orderd episodes.

The Season 2 Finale, Episode 13, "Epitaph Two: Return" will air January 22, 2010.

The Dollhouse TV Show: History

From the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Angel, and Ghost Whisperer, Joss Whedon constructed a brand new world: the LA sci-fi oriented TV show, Dollhouse. The TV show focuses on the idea that the human personality can never be completely destroyed.

The show follows actress Eliza Dushku as Echo, the favorite of the Dollhouse’s Dolls. Her mind has been taken from her body, put into an external hard drive, and then a new programmed personality is entered into her body. She is supposed to have no recollections of this or any idea that she isn’t exactly herself, but she keeps glitching…

Dollhouse premiered on February 13, 2009 on the FOX network and ran from February to May. At 13 episodes plus an unaired original pilot, the last episode of Season 1 never premiered: Epitaph One was only aired at the ComicCon of 2009 and a bonus feature on the DVD set. Season 1 averaged 3.7 million viewers.

Surprisingly, Fox renewed the show for a second season when the DVR and DVD purchases were high. It aired on September 25, 2009, but Fox cancelled the show on November 11, 2009 when the ratings averaged between 2-2.6 million viewers, during the filming of the 11th episode. Currently on the Season 2, Episode 6, "The Left Hand", the rest of the 13 episode season will air, with the finale being on January 22, 2010.
